Preparing this dessert is not particularly difficult, at least as far as the dough is concerned, while the shape requires a minimum of preparation, so that once it cools it does not fall apart.

How to make chocolate salami

To start preparing the chocolate salami these are the steps:

  • Coarsely crumble the dry crackers.
  • Melt the dark chocolate in a water bath.
  • While the chocolate melts, beat the butter until creamy.
  • To do this, the butter must already be soft enough to work with a silicone spatula.
  • Add the sugar and then the eggs.
  • Mix well until you get a smooth and homogeneous cream.
  • Remove the warm melted chocolate and add it to the butter and egg mixture.
  • Knead until the chocolate salami mixture becomes perfectly smooth, then add the chopped cookies and mix.


Place the mixture on a sheet of baking paper and try to give it a cylindrical shape as regular as possible, using your hands and a spatula.
Once you’ve shaped it, roll it in parchment paper to form a large cylindrical candy.
Pinch the sides together well, then roll it up the same way in foil.

Put it to rest in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours.

Once hardened, we take it out of the fridge, remove the aluminum and the baking paper and coat it in icing sugar.


Serve the sliced chocolate salami, just like a real salami.
